OUR GOALS

    To achieve this mission, SenaiNT pursues the following goals:

  1. Deliver an accredited, nationally registered certificate course in Spoken and Written English and Foundation Skills which meet the principles of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and leads to AQF qualifications or statements of attainment.
  2. Provide an integrated curriculum and assessment practices which reflect student needs and the latest developments in EAL/D adult learning methodologies, techniques, technology, and resource development.
  3. Provide a challenging and supportive instructional environment to develop the linguistic, numeracy and study skills of all learners with an emphasis on ensuring a high number of successful certificate completions at the desired certificate level.
  4. Adhere to the highest standards of English language instruction by attracting and developing motivated and talented Timor Leste English language specialists to enable succession planning.
  5. Develop an atmosphere in which professional development is supported, valued and pursued by all staff at the centre.
  6. Assume personal responsibility for solving problems, value and support for all team members through continual communication (open and transparent), active listening, giving and receiving feedback, adhering to team protocols and processes, collaboration and follow through to maximise team work.
  7. Contribute to international understanding by engaging students in meaningful inter-cultural exploration.
  8. Enrich the centre and the local community, fostering cross-cultural communication and interaction.
  9. Advance the Northern Territory’s Department of Education’s image as an international, multicultural learning community.
  10. Manage our resources efficiently and effectively to ensure the program is delivered within the agreed timeline and within budget allocation.
